Statement of Intent: It is the policy of the Wessex Mature Dancers to treat all students, carers, and the public fairly and equally regardless of their sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion, age disability or union membership status. Furthermore, we will ensure that no requirement or condition will be imposed without justification which could disadvantage individuals purely on any of the above grounds.
What personal data is being collected?
The data we collect is limited to that which you provide to us and is stored safely in a secure place. We may occasionally video record or take photographs at our classes or events and will seek individual permission from those present to be included. Photographs where you are included ‘incidentally’ is not considered to be personal data.
How will this data be used?
Personal data will be used to enable the Wessex Mature Dancers to provide safe practice in classes. Contact information such as email addresses and telephone numbers will be used to enable the Wessex Mature Dancers to update students and provide information or to contact the nominated individual should an emergency arise. We will not share your data with third parties in any way and under any circumstances, unless with your consent or if required to do so by law.

For students joining Wessex Mature Dancers, you will be asked to provide information on registration. This data is collected either by email or via a paper form.

Keeping your information secure
We aim to keep any personal data provided by you securely by using appropriately robust and password protected storage facilities. Individual students personal and contact details will deleted after their last contact with the Wessex Mature Dancers during that current academic year plus one year (unless we are contacted to do so directly as above under the heading ‘Your consent and how to stop us using your data’). This will take place during the archiving process once a year during the summer period.
How to make a request to access your data
In accordance with law, we are obliged to provide you with a copy of your personal data. Requests for your data can be made by email, using the contact details below.
We will ask you to provide evidence to prove that you are the data subject or are acting with the authority of the data subject. We will do this as soon as is practical, but certainly within the legal maximum of one month.
